Music Video
As we felt the Swedish music scene lacked a video-plattform for artists to showcase new music, we wanted to provide something new. We looked at British plattforms like Mixtape Madness and GRM Daily for inspiration, as well as german plattform ColorsxStudios and defunct Swedish radio channel East FM. The goal of the concept was to elevate talents in a simple but effective way, making a professional product without necessarily using up large budgets.
The basis of the concept derives from the performance itself. Each episode treats the artist as it’s centrepiece, placing them in the middle of the frame infront of a DOPEST-branded microphone. The artists performs their song with playback to ensure the best sound quality, as well as making room for more creativity with setting and editing. Some artists however, will record a one-take version of the song for use as playback. Adding a new element to the song not previously heard.
Since it’s inception during the beginning of 2022, DOPEST Sessions has produced four episodes (one being in collaboration with JBL). In total these videos have amassed over half a million views. We’ve also seen artists 2M, Zoe Lobos and NZINGABOY debut new tracks exclusively for DOPEST Sessions.
