Interview
We were tasked by iconic streetwear-brand Vans to create a campaign celebrating their classic shoe ”Old Skool”. Owing to the silhouettes documented history in skate- and hiphop-culture, we were asked to use our connections in the Swedish music scene to illustrate it’s impact throughout the years.
We wanted the emphasise the timelessness of Vans Old Skool by merging two generations of Swedish hiphop into one campaign, taking on the name ”Old Skool vs. New Skool”. The campaign took the form of a photo-session and interview with two artists: Jacco, from the legendary Uppsala-crew Labyrint and newcomer B.Baby from Gothenburg. Sporting outfits centered around the Vans Old Skool, the pair held a conversation about changes in Swedish hiphop and their relationship to Vans.
The campaign resulted in a myriad of photos of the two artists, all encompassing the Vans Old Skool in on way or another. An article was published to our website containing these images paired with a written interview. The campaign was also featured on Vans Sweden’s social media plattforms as well as the artist’s and our own.
